Terms and conditions

The Grief Space is a small independent business and each and every reservation is very important to us. Besides putting lots of love, time and energy in organising our gatherings we also have to make non-recoverable payments in advance to make them happen, so please read our terms and conditions carefully before you book. Thank you!

Reservation Deposit

When you sign up for a retreat with us, we ask for a non-refundable deposit (see pricing for details). Only once we have received your proof of payment, your reservation is officially confirmed. By transferring your deposit, you indicate that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions on this page.

The Remainder Payment

Unless otherwise agreed, please make sure the remaining payment is on our account no later than 6 weeks before the retreat starts to hold your spot. If you fail to make the final payment, we may forfeit your place and your deposit will not be refunded.

Cancellation Policy

Our retreats do not offer refunds of any kind for the retreat deposit. In certain cases, we may sympathetically offer a discount towards a future event, but we are not obligated and this is up to us at TGS to decide. Refunds for the remaining amount depend on when we receive the cancellation. Should you need to cancel with more than 8 weeks until the retreat date, you will be refunded 100% of the total amount (minus the deposit). Should you need to cancel within 8 weeks of the retreat date, 50% of the total amount (minus the deposit) will be refunded. Finally, there will be no refunds given for cancellation requests made within 4 weeks of the retreat date.

In Case We Must Cancel

If we can not host a retreat and we must cancel, we will notify you as soon as possible and you will receive a 100% refund. However, we are not accountable for your expenses incurred in preparation for the retreat, such as airline tickets, loss of work, visas fees and/or other costs associated with preparation for your trip. We have never needed to cancel a retreat, and have a wonderful team who are prepared to keep it going, but this is in case of components out of our control. To compensate, we would offer a discount for a future event, which we hope would balance out any expenses incurred.

Travel + Health Insurance

Nobody books a retreat with the intention of canceling it, but 2020 has shown us that unexpected events do occur, so we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Furthermore, you participate in the ceremonies, classes, workshops and hikes at your own risk and you must employ your own judgment as to which movements, positions, and exercises are appropriate for your level of training, overall physical fitness and experience as well as mental stability. All foreign participants are required to have travel insurance that includes medical cover.

Content, Social Media + Commerce

We deeply encourage our guests to unplug and unwind so that you may fully immerse in the experience. This experience is meant to invest in your personal life and not for your work/blog/website and any kind of promotion of products, brands or services. Professional camera's are not allowed during your stay. Please respect the privacy of other guests and do not photograph any other guests unless they have given consent.

Our Rights

The Grief Space reserves the right to remove a participant from the retreat if their behaviour is disruptive.
The Grief Space reserves the right to keep a guest liable if they bring damage to the house or belongings.
The Grief Space reserves the right to change the program, teachers or team members at all times.

Thank you for understanding and respecting our terms and conditions.
